About the WSC As our area of the state becomes more populated, there is less land that can truly be considered a natural wildlife area, thus, the importance of the Wilderness Science Center, one of the few remaining areas for students to study natural plant and animal life. The property includes old and new growth forest, prairie, small wetland, wetland forest, wet meadow, multiple streams and riparian corridor. Students study four ecosystems at the WSC: prairie, forest, river and wetland. In 2002, the Blue Valley Educational Foundation (external link) sponsored the dedication of the Helen and Victor Reginer Learning Center Building, which was made possible by donations from various organizations, including The Victor and Helen Regnier Charitable Foundation. A big thank you goes to the Blue Valley Educational Foundation. Without their special interest in the WSC, many of the projects and the Helen and Victor Reginer Learning Center Building would not have been possible. Thank you to all individual donors and organizations for their generous gifts that helped to make the WSC an exceptional educational facility: Donors Victor and Helen Regnier Charitable Foundation
